V-Day

It has taken me a full 24 hours plus to recover from Valentine's Day celebrations and I declare that 2012 was the best Valentine's Day I've ever had!  I have been spoiled thoroughly.  In one single, solitary day the Lord of the Wetlands has bestowed on me every Valentine's wish I have ever made, ever hoped and prayed for in my 43 years here on Earth.  We joked that he has now set a precedence and the bar is very high but, and just between you and I,  my Lord could forget Valentine's Day for the next 30 years and I'd still be walking on sunshine in memory of this year's V-Day celebrations :-)

My day started with an early morning text message, followed by the discovery of a Valentine's Day message printed in our local newspaper and then the mid-morning delivery of a dozen red roses, a plush teddy bear (who has been bestowed the moniker of Boo Bear) and a helium heart-shaped balloon which says Happy Valentine's Day.  I was then whisked off to a romantic fine-dining experience that evening at Milano's on The Lake for an exquisite five-course meal which consisted of:

Crayfish on Brioche with celery and leek remoulade and sweet tomato relish

Chicken and smoked chorizo terrine topped with ocean caught prawn and gumbo sauce

Pina Colada Sorbet

Lamb backstrap with boulangere potato, green pea foam, olive and tomato salsa and rosemary jus

And then a shared plate of a variety of desserts which included chocolate mousse cake, white chocolate gelato, chocolate fudge, berry compote, vanilla bean cream, fresh berries, shortbread stack, cointreau cream, orange segments and fresh marscapone

All washed down with a bottle of Kissing Bridge Moscato ... <sigh> heavenly :-)

I used to hate Valentine's Day, every year it was just a day full of heartache, loneliness and disappointment when time and time again I received nothing ... no cards, no flowers, no candy, no declarations or messages of love, no presents, no being taken out anywhere and that was even when I was married or in a relationship! And yet here is a man, who he himself has never had anybody to share or celebrate Valentine's Day with, giving me memories that I shall treasure forever.

Thank you my Lord for making me feel cherished, adored, appreciated, desired and most of all loved xo
